God's Grace - Unmerited
Favor
Mankind was created in God's image to be God's
children. God is entirely righteous and entirely love.
He loved His children, but when they sinned His righteousness
demanded spiritual, then physical death. His plan to redeem
His children entailed sending His Law, then sending His Grace - His
Son Jesus Christ.
God's Law included blessings for keeping the Law
and
curses for failing to keep the law. The purpose for the
Law was to prove to mankind that they could never obey the Law and
needed Grace. John 1:17 says "The Law was given by Moses,
but Grace and Truth came through Jesus Christ."
Grace came. It was Jesus, warm and personal.
Jesus was and is God's unmerited favor to mankind.
At the cross God's wrath and judgment for all sin (past, present,
and future) was poured out onto Jesus. He became sin that
mankind would become righteous again. All the
curses of the law that we
deserved were put onto Jesus. All the
blessings that Jesus
deserved for keeping and fulfilling the Law were transferred to
mankind.
You must be
Born Again
to be made righteous, in right standing with God, and to receive
God's Grace and
blessing. The pages of this website, listed on
the left border, describe how a person lives in the Grace of God
each day.
Definitions:
- Favor: Excessive
kindness or unfair partiality; preferential treatment
- Blessing: a
favor or gift bestowed by God, thereby bringing happiness.
- Grace: The freely given, Unmerited Favor
and love of God
A person that is born again should live in a state
of Grace. He should be continuously receiving God's unmerited
favor and
blessings in every area of his life. Worry and fear
interrupt the flow of God's Grace in one or more aspects of the
person's life while Grace is freely flowing in those areas where he
is at rest. |
