Our FatherWhen you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior you become a child of God! The Spirit of God brings your dead spirit to life and you are a new creation, a new creature, a child of God. We are joint heirs with Jesus, meaning that what the Father gave Jesus He will give to us! Romans 8:14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." 16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. 17Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. I John 5:1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God,
and everyone who loves the Father loves his child as well. The Arabic word "Abba" means "Daddy". It is a term of endearment for your Father. We are adopted into God the Father's family! Prior to Jesus dieing for mankind no man could know God as our Father. God made Adam and Eve to be His children. They were given free will to choose to love Him or not. When they rebelled they and their descendents were no longer . Now after Jesus we again can freely choose to have God as our father or not. God has a family again! What is our Daddy like? Jesus tells us. John 14: 6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." 8Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us." 9Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? 10Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. If we have seen Jesus we have seen the Father. Jesus is just like His
Father! Jesus went about helping people, healing people, teaching
people. Jesus was love. The Father is love. We can rely on our
Father's love! I John 4:16 And so we know and rely on the love God has
for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love, lives in God, and God in him. Jesus said that our Father loves us as much as our Father loves Jesus! John 17:23 I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. Because we are children we can get close to our Father. Because of Jesus shed blood we are brought near to God. Ephesians 2:14 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. 14For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, 16and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. 18For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. 19Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, We are members of God's household! We have easy access to our
Father! See our teaching on Praying in Heaven
to learn how to pray to our Father while close to Him, in Heaven.
Whatsoever things you ask, believe you receive! Be sure and as for more of
the Holy Spirit! Luke 11:9 So I say to you: Ask and it will be
given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10For
everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door
will be opened. 11"Which of you fathers, if your son asks
for a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12Or if he asks for an
egg, will give him a scorpion? 13If you then, though you are evil,
know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father
in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" We pray to the Father in Jesus Name Matthew 6:10 This, then, is how you should pray: |
