Speak to Your Mountain! We talk to our children, we talk to our boss or our employees, we talk to our spouse, we talk to the mailman . But do we ever stop and think about talking to our illness, our debts, our family situation? In the Bible, Jesus tells us to talk to our problems, talk to our seed and to talk to our harvest and command it to line up with the Word of God . We are to do this because He did it ! In Matthew 21:19 Jesus spoke to the fig tree that was not producing fruit . He cursed it at the root and it died . He taught his followers a valuable lesson on speaking to something and the obedience that follows speaking in the Name of Jesus. Jesus spoke to the winds and the waves on the stormy Sea of Galilee and said "Peace, be still." The storm obeyed the spoken word of God . His followers were afraid and questioned how Jesus could sleep during the storm. But when Jesus calmed the waters, He turned to Peter and asked, "Where is your faith?" He indicated that Peter and the others could have spoken to the winds and waves and done the same thing . They could have operated in the same miraculous power if they had demonstrated faith in the same God in the same way, by speaking. God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and power (Isaiah 61:1; Luke 4:18,19). He told us that we shall receive power after the Holy Spirit comes upon us (Acts 1:8). Just like Jesus, God has provided us a power source for us through His Holy Spirit . We activate that power by our faith . And Romans 12:3 says that God has given use the measure of faith, not a measure, but the perfect measure to get the job done . Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing the Word of God . The more Word of God that comes in, the more you are able to exercise your faith and it gets stronger and stronger. As we activate our faith, we must choose to stand and not be moved by circumstances . Second Corinthians 5:7 says We walk by faith, not by sight . Why ? Simply speaking, the sight of circumstances can destroy us . But we must operate in faith according to God's Word in order to stand firm in our expectations from the Lord, not matter what it looks like! Our speech is evidence of our faith. In other words, it is time to command our circumstances to catch up to our faith. Mark 11:23 tells us to "speak to that mountain". Also verse 24 says we are to believe we receive when we pray . So, after prayer say "I believe I receive". We are to use the Truth, the Word of God, to change the facts . It may be a fact that you are sick, but the Truth is "By His stripes I was healed", Isaiah 53:5. |
